2017 — What A Year!

My last blog post was April, 2017. Since then I have been MIA as it pertains to my monthly newsletter and most social media.

Will not go into all the details because they will just sound like excuses. The biggest contributor to my disappearance was the result of an opportunity that came my way that took a considerable amount of my time and ‘life band with’. It was a opportunity to do what I love the most – facilitating, training and teaching on a full-time basis.

This past year, I was able to conduct and facilitate workshops on behalf of the U.S Department of Labor for transitioning military veterans who are preparing to transition from the military to the civilian workforce. The workshops are three days in length and include how to research and identify employment opportunities, how to market your self, develop a targeted resume, interview preparation, and negotiating job offers. In 2017 I conducted a total of 39 workshops involving over 1200 transitioning veterans. It was indeed a honor and privilege to be able to spend each week helping those who have served our country prepare for the next chapter in their life.

I have learned how to manage my time and energy more effectively with this new opportunity and therefore in 2018 I am committed getting back to doing something else that I have a passion for — and that is writing and sharing life lessons that may benefit others.
